Club Travelogue

We had a lot of fun running around the trails of Central Park tonight!  Silly me, I forgot to take a picture of the ENTIRE group. . .we had around 12-15 members turn out to run from the Community Gardens down to (and thru) the Rabbit Hole, then climb up behind the Dog Park where we split into 2 groups.  My group tackled the climb to the water tower and ran some of the trails up there before heading back down and joining up with the rest of the group running around the park (and repeating the Rabbit Hole again for some!).  So sorry not to have pictured the rest of the group!  The camera went up the ridge!  🙂

With a lot of club members out of town, we had a much smaller, yet BRAVE group that got together to charge the hills of the Pine Street Trail!  The loose dirt and steep inclines made the 1.44 miles to the top FEEL much longer!  Short, but definitely sweet this week!

Definitely hotter than last time we were here, but a big turnout and a great run at Haskell Canyon this week!  A few of us ran the 3 miles up to the first tower just past the gate.  It’s a bit of a climb, but the view is worth it!  (sorry K.J., no snakes. . .I know you really REALLY wanted to see at LEAST one. . .maybe next time we run thru a snake preserve?)

A little break in the heat (still hot, but not too bad) and amazing sights to be had!  We met in the parking lot outside Tomato Joes and ran the trails behind Aliento.  It was a ‘choose your adventure’ type of night and a few of us found ourselves at the top of the ridge!  Just over 5 miles for the full trip and totally worth the climb!

Magic was in the air during this weeks Thursday Night Tempo run!  Starting from the parking lot outside The Stand, we ran the Paseo Trails in the glimmering heat.  We made a 3 to 4.5 mile loop of it, depending on which group you stuck with!

It may have been overcast and a bit on the cold side, but the flowers were in bloom and green was everywhere!  Great scenery was to be had on this past Thursday Night Temp run (04.17.25) as we took to the hills of Towsley Canyon and conquered the Elder and Taylor Trails!

Weather warmed up this week for a nice trail run from the Toppers Pizza parking lot out to South Fork and back.  Good turnout!  Stopped for a water break in the park before finishing up this 4 – 6 mile run, depending on who you followed!

Nothing starts off a run quite as good as a rainbow!  Great run in and around Central Park!  Various distance options to be had, ranging from 4.5 to 6+ miles.

Overcast and a bit ‘drizzly’ made for PERFECT running conditions!  We ran a 4-6 mile out-and-back up the Haskell Canyon Trail!  Visibility was low up on the ridge, but it was a really fun run!

This weeks turnout may have been small in number, but it was great in heart!  We ran from the Islands parking lot out to South Fork Trail and back!
