Our Running Events

The Hangover run is a traditional and very popular run held every January 1st at 8:30am rain or shine. The run, hosted by Mervat Tawfik, is also the first of the The High Desert Runners Mountain Fun Run Series and draws a huge turnout from both HDRs and SCRs alike.
The Prediction Run is the opportunity for ANY SCR to take home the top prize. The objective is not necessarily to run the fastest…but to run the time you predict. Runners start based on their predicted finish time, so those who figure to run the fastest start last. The challenge, of course, is everyone runs without watches or timing devices and can’t see the clock until they’re finished.
Another long standing club tradition and one of our most fun events of the year. Our “Jingle Bell Jog” is typically attended by nearly 100 people, many in the spirit of the season wearing Santa hats, red and green clothing, holiday gear, and carrying jingle bells. We do a slow run on the nearby paseos and through the local Northbridge neighborhoods, getting a great view of the holiday light displays. Post run we have our annoual holiday party and “Toys for Tots” fundraiser at Wolf Creek”.
The moonlight run will be held in late October on a flat, fast and spooky course through Nancy’s Ranch, across the Trestle Bridge and along the new river trail…rain or shine.
